Hooray for ART! My name is Bethany Bergman and I am very excited to share my love of art with the students of Neely Traditional Academy. In the Gilbert District, art is offered on a biweekly basis. Your student will have art class for 40 minutes every two weeks. Every minute counts in art!
In class, students will have the opportunity to draw, paint, and sculpt in various media while learning about the Elements of Art and Principles of Design. They will also be challenged to think critically and creatively.
The art room is a place of expression, fun, and high level thinking that stretches our limits. Children are challenged to Create, Present, Respond, and Connect to the art they will be making as well as to the world around them.
I am a Gilbert Public Schools Alumna – graduate of Highland High school class of ’01 (go Hawks!). Following this brilliant educational beginning, I attended Arizona State University where I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Herberger College of Fine Art with my B.F.A in Art Education. To help me strengthen my educator skills I immediately attended Northern Arizona University where I received my Masters of Education in Elementary Education. Following this graduation, I was hired by Gilbert Public Schools and have been teaching at Neely ever since! I love my Neely artists!
In addition to being an art teacher, I am a wife and mother. I have three beautiful children and loving husband who help me smile every day. I love to read, play the cello, sing, go to church, and make plans for trips and home overhauls.
